1. Allah’s knowledge (Al ‘Ilm)
a. Allah knows everything.
Verily, Allah is the All-Knower of everything (Al Anfaal 8:75)
Know you not that Allah knows all that is in heaven and on earth? Verily, it is (all) in the Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfooz). Verily! That is easy for Allah. (Al Hajj 22:70)
b. Past, present, future and things that didn’t happen
2. The writing
a. Allah has recorded everything in the Preserved Tablet (Al Hajj 22:70)
3. Allah’s Will
a. Whatever things that happen is due to the will of Allah. Nothing will happen without Allah’s will. If Allah didn’t will it to happen, it will definitely not happen.
And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the Alameen (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (At Takwiir 81:29)
b. Not all things that Allah allows to happen is what Allah like.
i. Allah allows and loves : sending Prophet, human doing good deeds
ii. Allah allows but dislikes : human committing sin, people worshipping idol
c. Not all things that Allah disallowed to happen is what Allah dislike.
i. Allah disallows but loves : creating all human as muslim
ii. Allah disallows but dislikes: creating all human as kafir.
4. The Creation
a. Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the Wakeel (Trustee, Disposer of affairs, Guardian, etc.) over all things. (Az Zumar 39:62)
b. Allah is the creator of Good and Bad things:
i. All good is attributed to Allah
ii. Allah created good and bad
And if some good reaches them, they say, “This is from Allah,” but if some evil befalls them, they say, “This is from you (O Muhammad r).” Say: “All things are from Allah, (An Nisaa 4:78)
iii. Bad things happen because of human and not because of Allah
Whatever of good reaches you, is from Allah, but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself. (An Nisaa 4:79)
“From the evil of what He has created; (Al Falaq 113:2)
5. Free Will
We human are given limited free will by Allah.
a. Things we don’t have free will
i. Skin color,
iv. Who is our parents
b. Things we have free will
i. How we use the things Allah created (technologies)
ii. Choice on whether to worship Allah or not
iii. Choice on doing good or bad
iv. Choice on what food to eat
v. Choice on the decision in our life
c. We will only accountable for the things that we have free will and not the things we don’t have.
1. Al Hidayah (The guidance):
a. Worldly : For all creation, knowledge such as science, geology, literature.
b. Hidayah Al Bayan / Al Irshad: information about religion through education, explanation. It is for everyone.
c. Hidayah At Tawfeeq: opening of heart, only for believers and those whom he wills.
2. Al Khudlan :
To be left to oneself.
Allah will only leave a person on himself if they choose to turn away from Allah.
I am in accordance with the thoughts of My slave about Me; and I am with him, when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in his heart, I also remember him in My heart. If he remembers Me in a group, I remember him in a better group (i.e. angels). If he draws near Me by the span of a palm, I draw near him by a cubit. If he draws near Me by a cubit, I draw near him by the space covered by two hands. If he walks towards Me, I go to him running. [Hadith Qudsi]
Tawakkul in Allah is the greatest act of worship. This is because human have limited power whereas Allah has complete power. Through depending and having faith in Allah it show our complete dependence towards Allah. However a lot of people misunderstood the meaning of Tawakkul.
The way a muslim should tawakkul is after they use every single means to do something then only they tawakkul in Allah.
By tawakkul it leads to hearts tranquility and contentment.
